Mirror heard a large thump from inside.

"Anything else broken in there?" she called over her shoulder as she scraped the whetstone over Zoe's massive sword. The woman sure knew weaponry. Zoe's collection of swords and axes rivaled even her old mistress's collection back home.

No answer came from the cabin.

Mirror put down the whetstone and the sword.

"Snow? You okay?" She opened the back door, and a scream escaped her throat as she sprinted across the room to where Snow lay twitching on the floor. She threw herself to the ground next to him, grabbing a pillow off a nearby chair to cushion his head and ripping open his shirt so she could assess his injuries. Webs of white veins radiated from the tips of his fingers, lacing quickly toward his chest.

No, Snow, no. Fear closed like a vise around her heart.

The white pathways stood out starkly against his tan skin, an unearthly menace turning him into stone. His mouth opened and closed mutely as he tried to speak. He purposefully directed his gaze toward an apple lying on its side under the table. A single large bite was taken out of it.

"Snow, you beautiful idiot. What have you done?" Mirror asked, her voice strangled.

Mirror grabbed a napkin and used it to pick up the apple, smelling the edges of the bite mark: brimstone with a slight whiff of cardamom.

Mirror concentrated on remembering all of the books on curses she'd read when she lived with her former mistress. For ten years, Mirror lived in a cursed castle where everyone she loved was at the mercy of evil magic. Desperate to find a way to save them, Mirror had studied nearly every curse in the kingdom to try and find a cure.

Oh, gods. Mirror's heart beat fast as she realized what this had to be. Mirror had been wrong: Victor really was a monster. He'd put his stepson under the White Curse. The webs of white had reached up both of Snow's arms. Once they reached his heart, Snow would become completely stone, trapped inside his mind forever, never able to move or feel again.

"Snow!" Mirror leaned close to look into his eyes, rubbing her hands across his chest. "Victor cursed you, but I know the cure."

It was a long shot, and she couldn't be sure it was going to work, but the White Curse had been stopped only once before.

"The White Curse is fueled by hate." As she spoke, she stripped off the rest of Snow's clothes until he lay naked in all of his impressively-ripped glory. She tried to ignore the lines of white creeping up past his knees and beginning to lace up towards his thighs.

I can save him. I have to save him. Mirror pulled off her clothes and straddled him so her clit rubbed against the ridges of his six-pack. His eyes widened.

"The cure is to fight back with the curse's opposite." She reached forward to caress his chest and tweak his nipples. "I care about you, Snow." She leaned forward and kissed him gently on the lips, savoring his taste, so alive and sweet.
